In the 2024-25 academic year, I had the honor to be the President of Leadership In Action Fellowship, the Honors College's student body government. Each year, LIA chooses a theme to center the various speakers brought in to present to the fellowship of 50 bright honors students looking to get involved in the Honors College at Grand Canyon University. This year's theme was "Lead like a Conductor," inspired by Itay Talgam's Ted Talk on leading like the great conductors.
As President, my duties included successfully executing the Student Leader Training along with the Vice President and the Director of the Honors College before the beginning of the academic year. After the start, I made sure the weekly sessions ran smoothly and offered support to the director of various taskforces as they carried out initiatives to engage the Honors College's student population. However, I wanted to utilize my design capabilities to further serve the Honors College and LIA. Thus, I designed PowerPoint template for the LIA weekly sessions as well as the student leader training, and created a workbook for the leaders to take notes in during student leader training. These designs are shown below!
Below are the student leader workbook pages that I designed! Student Leader Training takes place over the course of 4 days where we bring in various speakers to talk about the different aspects of leadership that these student leaders will need to know.
